Today is a day of dealing with crap. Making sure I get government benefits, the end of my RapidSugar contract and stuff like that. I needs to get done. Never get cancer and start your own company, its a bad combo. Also my hair is starting to go.

Welcome
This is the blog of the journey I started on June 4th 2008 when I found out I had a tumor between my lungs. Its a journal for all to read, to stay informed and for me to share. This blog will be updated every couple-o-days. Check my twitter feed for more recent updates.
All will mostly be in English for global reach. And I don't care to much about speling. Lori and Jos will also be posting here.

It’s all going to be OK kiddo. Get this out of the way so you can hit the ground running in your new business. I know you’d much rather be doing that than getting well BUT this is more important.
We like your hair too. If it helps, the majority of the people I’ve know who have lost their hair to chemo say it came back in more luxurious than ever before! Could you possibly come out of this more handsome?! Hard to imagine!
Love you,
Raelene & Tony
Just a few hours left and day 13 will be over.
Very curious how boldness will suite you or not. The nice thing is it will return! For a lot of people the process is slow and without escape (guess i’m one of those men).
Admiring the way you and your loved ones deal with it all. Wonder if I will have the strenght when a speedbumb of life of this magnitude wil hit me or my loved ones (knock on wood).
You’re setting quite an example.
Try to enjoy the happy moments even more then you already did. Therefore you definately have to go to radiohead.
Hi Maarten,
Your hair will grow again. No worries. BTW, short hair saves you lots of time in the morning. At least it does for me 🙂 Mate, once again: hang in there. It may be sh*tty to have to work through all the paperwork and stuff, but eventually you will benefit from all that you’ve done today, one way or another.
Another day bites the dust on your way to recovery!!!
Cheers,
Lode
13 is a crap number, so they say, and it goes perfectly hand-in-hand with crap stuff! (Jee, Monday 13 sounds a tad worse than Friday 13!) And by now it must be over…So over to 14, almost two weeks already!
Keep tight,
Marta
Just saw the pics on Flicker, you look great!
Marta
Life is pretty much a crapshoot anyway.
Love from the persnickety proofer:)
Maarten, it is _not_ going to be the last time we’re going to see you with hair, allright?
Hang in there.
A bit overdue, but 13 isn’t a bad number. It’s made bad by some religious folks. In former days, and i do mean former, 13 was the number of change (for good and bad).
So taking care of business on day 13 is the proper thing to do I guess.
Greetings,
Jos
I hadn’t thought it would look this good. Looked like a brave shave! Congrats on your courage.
