Today is Day 9 of Round 2, better known as ‘Low Resistance Day’. Yesterday Maarten had his first of two outpatient chemo, a round of Bleomycinpumped into his veins intravenously. Compared to the treatments in the last round, this one went well. We learned that the best way to combat the side effects was to take paracetamol before the treatment. So that’s what we did. After the treatment, Maarten slept…A LOT.
Overall, he seems to have had a few mild symptoms today (slight nausea, chest pain, soar throat). The biggest problem has been extreme weakness. Much better then last round.
Maarten’s spirits were raised today when we went to get his iPhone 3G. With more enthusiasm then I’ve seen him show in a while, we went to pick it up. His mood improved again when Marc and Sam came to deliver a gift from his comrades at Mobile Monday Amsterdam, A Flip Camera. Another Gadget! Thanks Momo Amsterdam!
Long live gadgets!! It seems that electronic devices are killing Theo, they keep the spirits up and the nastyness away (at least fo a while).
