See, what did I tell you about bald! I think it’s great! I’m impressed that he took his time and obviously showed great care – I would have imagined the entire procedure of shaving one’s head would take no more than 30 seconds.

This reminds me of last February when Britney Spears shaved her head. But you look much happier than she did. When asked why she shaved her head, she supposedly commented “I don’t want anyone touching me. I’m tired of everybody touching me.”
Her hair was sold on E-bay. Have you thought about that?

It looks GOOD, Lens!! The video is totally fun, and I loved the mohawk stage. Very nice. I could see Lori taking pictures from all angles.

You really look good Maarten! Josh does this to himself every summer because of the heat here. I think most people will see this as a fashion statement, not as being sick, unless the styles are “very” different there. I don’t remember that being the case when we were there.

Dear Maarten..you don’t know me but I have come to know you from your blogs…I am a friend of your Mom’s ..we were schoolmates many moons ago in Switzerland …she sent me your site and I have been following your journey because of your Mom but also because I have been where you are now..I had breast cancer, surgery and chemo ..that was nineteen years ago and it was, in hind sight , a gift because truly every day now is a gift…you are very courageous and funny and charming ….your shaved head is adorable and fits your personality …perky and upbeat and unencumbered by falseness it seems…your are blessed with an amazingly loving wife and wonderful friends as well as parents who adore you…this too shall pass just remember that …it is important also to remember what my oncologist told me at the time..he reminded me that I was a healthy young woman who” happened to have cancer”..amazingly it clicked somehow with me and made sense ..you too are a healthy young man with so much potential and a wonderful future ahead..it does seem that ,when one thing happens ,many other things happen at the same time that are not easy but they are there for a reason though the reason may not be evident until much later…I told your mother that my father had taken videos of a group of us at lunch when he came to take me back to the good ole USA…I will try to copy that part of the video and send it to you and her then you will get to see your Mom as a young woman and the fun we had as a group living together…what a long time ago it was !…we have been in touch all these many years and I am so pleased that she enabled me to be a part of this journey of yours…my very best wishes to you ….Pam Rich

Ha ha dit scheermoment lijkt me wel een voorlopig hoogtepunt op deze journey. De mohawk was goed geweest voor een bezoekje aan clubs in Shoreditch en Hoxton of voor een lullig Tecktonic dansje in Parijs.
