Kan me voorstellen dathet best moeilijk is.
Zit nu eens even je weblog te bekijken en dat ziet er wel weer interessant uit. Maar…in ieder geval all the best…heel veel sterkte…en….en ga je site volgens.
Groet Willem vd P
Wishing you all the strength Maarten. Tough days will be around but your family and friends will pull you through it all.
Keep the faith amigo…. you are strong and courageous !
Yuri
Fijn dat het vandaag beter gaat! Hoop dat je energieniveau op peil blijft.
Wij gaan vanavond met Lori hangen, maar dat weet je vast al.

Thanks for that update Maarten. Yes we will stick with you in this fight. So glad you are feeling better than yesterday. It is amazing indeed what a good nights sleep does. Ofcourse it is not amazing that the awareness of everything yesterday was kind of tough. How all your friends that stay with you in this process will brighten your day. Thanks alot for encouraging us the way you do. You teach us quite a lesson man!!!

So I was talking with a friend of mine that recently beat her own bout of cancer and several grueling rounds of chemo. She had two pieces of advice for you.
1) “make sure and feed off of your friends and family. They will be the energy when you have none” She kept a notebook that she carried around (your blog) and wrote down the one sentence or phrase that someone said to her or she read that was her mantra for the day, or next day. Kind of her cheesy calendar word of the day. I’ve seen the list and sometimes the quotes were funny and stupid like “what was Capatain Crunch a captain of?” and others had deep personal meaning. I know you enjoy a good list. Maybe you and Lori can keep your own personal lists and compare once this is all over.
Its clear that you are smarter than the average bear and have already started this plan in the modern way with this blog.
her second piece of advice made me laugh
2) “keep a lot of pudding around the house.” Pudding pops were especially good. She said that there were days when the only thing she ate was pudding, and she is convinced it was instrumental in keeping her at a healthy weight. She became an expert in pudding options and flavors. Maybe you will find some beer flavored pudding.
(she also said that she amused herself from time to time by inventing ways to take her meds in a martini glass so she felt her medical cocktail was a real cocktail. I’m glad to see you have your pint glass handy)
So there’s some advice from a survivor, passed on through an admirer.
We’re all out here admiring your and Lori’s ability to share your fight. What I guess many of us are thinking and asking ourselves, though not saying outloud, is “what would I do if this happened to me?” So we’re out here rooting and cheering for you, all the while hoping that we’d have your strength and humor if faced with the same situation. So your fan club has started.
PS. loved that a whole chunk of the Freddy video was the cat licking himself. You are such a boy laughing over that.
ik zal aan je denken als ik vanavond in de 11 sta…
Hi Lens – here is some traffic for a Saturday
Thinking of you always though. I love the advice that Ellen gave, it looks like good advice.
We just got back from lunch with the family – baptized Andy today.
Last night we went to the winery – Murietta’s Well, we all went there at Christmas when you were here. We recorded a nice message to send, so I need to figure out how to send that
Will attempt it today.
Luv Luv,
T&C
I prescheduled live video broadcast would be great. Count us in to be there. I am so glad that you are feeling better today. Did you bring some good comedy videos with you in your extensive media collection? I am sure you did! When we visited you last, comedy filled your personal DVD collection. You introduced us to Zoolander; one of the many things of which we are eternally grateful:) Love from Austin, Texas, where the Dutchcowboy is always welcome!
Thanks for sending your skype address… Hopefully we can schedule a chat sometime that that is convenient for you all. It may or may not be able to be a video chat b/c we are at the beach in a condo with a slower connection than home… we are on beach time. If Lens and Lori or either or both of you are up to it, I’d love for our little girls to be on the chat too. No hurries! Just feel our love across the ocean. Alex & I drank a margarita for Lens last night. Pretty sure that is why he is feeling better today:)
