A CT scan of my stomach to be excact. I need to be in the hospital at 9 for that. To make the scan they will give me a contrast fluid to drink (not to self: bring mints). And I have to skip breakfast. After like an hour they will scan me and I can go home again.
The scan is to determine if there are any tumors in that area. As said I have a Mediastinal Germ Cell Tumor, a tumor between my lungs. It is a type of Seminoma. If you check the wiki of Seminoma you will see it is a type of testicular cancer. Key difference is that my tumor is NOT down there (feeeeeeeewwwww!) but between my lungs. Such cases are uncommon. Because the tumor is in my chest it means that there is a chance it is also some where else. And they haven’t checked my abdominal area.
At 3 in the afternoon my oncologist (I have one now…) will call me with the results of the scan and the final results of the biopsy. The pathologist wasn’t a 100% sure about the biopsy conclusions before the weekend and will be now. Based on this my oncologist will make the detailed chemo treatment plan. And I will know when I will go into the hospital.
Of course I will share it here as soon as I know.
